His Most Eminent Highness the Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Fra’ John Dunlap, will be in Hungary on an official visit from 16 to 18 September, at the invitation of His Excellency the President of the Republic Tamás Sulyok. He will be accompanied by a delegation including some of the high authorities of the Order.
During his visit, he will hold discussions with the President of the Republic, the Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén and His Eminence Cardinal Peter Erdő, and will meet with members of the Hungarian Association of the Order of Malta and of the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta. He will visit the Blessed Gerard Psychiatric Hospital (formerly Gálfi Béla Hospital) in Pomáz, managed by the Order.
The last visit by a Grand Master of the Order of Malta to Hungary was by HMEH Fra’ Matthew Festing in 2013, on the occasion of the celebration by the Hungarian Parliament of the 900th anniversary of the foundation of the Order.
