The annual bilateral meeting of the Hungarian Government and the Order of Malta was held in the Government building of Buda Castle on March 12.The meeting was chaired by Zsolt Semjén, Deputy Prime Minister of the Hungarian Government, and Dr. Heinz Anton Hafner, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Leaders of the Hungarian Association and the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta were in attendance.
H.E. Ambassador Heinz Hafner was with the Hungarian Knights of Malta in the Palatine crypt in Buda Castle, where they commemorated the first president of the Hungarian Association, Archduke Joseph August Habsburg-Lothringen, with a Holy Mass. The Palatine crypt in Buda Castle is the burial place, to this day, of members of the Hungarian Palatine branch of the House of Habsburg-Lothringen.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Curia, a reception was held on 24 February for the diplomatic corps accredited in Hungary. H.E. the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta had the opportunity to congratulate the President of the Curia, Dr. András Varga.
