The annual ceremony of New Year greetings by the diplomatic corps to the President of the Republic of Hungary took place at the Vigadó in Budapest, enriched by a cultural programme and ending in a reception. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Heinz Anton Hafner attended accompanied by his spouse, Dr. Monika Hafner.
It is with great sadness and sympathy that the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Hungary announces the passing away of Dr. Erich Kussbach, former Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Hungary, on July 10 in Vienna. H.E. Dr. Heinz Anton Hafner attended the funeral held on July 17.
H.E. the Ambassador and Dr. Monika Hafner attended the Pope's Day reception at the Nunciature, which was also the farewell reception for the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Michael W. Banach, who completed his mission in Hungary.
The Grand Hospitaller of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, visited Hungary from 26 to 29 June. His program included visits to several Institutions operated by the Charity Service of the Order of Malta, attendance at the 7th Saint John's Charity Ball, and Holy Mass together with members of the Hungarian Association in the Matthias Church in Buda Castle.
