Budapest, March 27, 2025 Archbishop Michael W. Banach, Apostolic Nuncio to Hungary, has been received into the Order as Honorary Conventual Chaplain Grand Cross in gremio religionis. HMEH the Grand Master John Dunlap delegated the President of the MMLSZ, Kristóf Szabadhegÿ, to preside the induction ceremony, which was held in the chapel of the house of the Order in Budapest, in the presence of HE Ambassador Dr. Heinz Anton Hafner.
The customary Thursday Holy Mass was celebrated by His Exc. Archbishop Banach, in English. It was concelebrated by the Chief Chaplain of MMLSZ, Bishop Levente Balázs Martos, the Nunciature Secretary Péter Lápossy, and José Antonio Rodríguez García, also of the Nunciature, and attended by numerous members of the Hungarian Association of the Order.
In his homily, Archbishop Banach highlighted spiritual warfare as an indispensable part of Christian life, especially in the current new missionary era.
After the Holy Mass and the induction ceremony, all those present gathered in the community hall of the House of MMLSZ, where H.E. Heinz Anton Hafner, Ambassador of the Order, and Kristóf Szabadhegÿ welcomed the new member of the Order.
