The former occupational therapy institute in Pomáz has been run as a specialised psychiatric hospital by the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta since 2022. It was this healing institution that was visited on Wednesday morning, 18 September, by the Grand Master and his entourage, during their official visit to Hungary.

The Grand Master first met the patients and their carers. Afterwards, the bust of the founder of the Order, Blessed Gellért, was unveiled and blessed. First, Dr. Loránd Erőss, Hospitaller of the Hungarian Association of the Knights of Malta, gave a brief presentation on the history of the hospital and its current tasks. Then the Grand Master gave a short speech, followed by Bishop Levente Balázs Martos, Senior Chaplain of the Hungarian Association, who blessed the statue that the Grand Master had just unveiled. The ceremony ended with a prayer.

Afterwards, the Grand Master spent a little time with the members of the Order and of the Charity Service who were present.
