Annual reception at the Embassy
Budapest, 9th September. His Excellency Dr. Heinz Anton Hafner hosted the annual reception of the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Hungary, on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Philermos. The Ambassador welcomed Prof. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia, Mrs. Klara Breuer, State Secretary of Bileteral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, representatives of the Hungarian Government and the Diplomatic Corps, Church Authorities, members of the Hungarian Association of the Order, and leaders of the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta.

Visit of H.E. the Grand Commander to Hungary
H.E. Ven. Bailli Fra’ Emmanuel Rousseau paid a working visit to Hungary from 7-9 September. As special highlight of his visit, the Grand Commander accepted the promise of obedience of a confrater of the Hungarian Association. He visited several institutions operated by the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta as well as the Embassy of the Order in Budapest. He paid a visit to the Holy Crown of Hungary in the House of Parliament, and to the Szechényi National Library.

Death of Dr. Erich Kussbach, former Ambassador of the SMOM to Hungary
It is with great sadness and sympathy that the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Hungary announces the passing away of Dr. Erich Kussbach, former Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Hungary, on July 10 in Vienna. H.E. Dr. Heinz Anton Hafner attended the funeral held on July 17.
