The President of the Republic, Dr. Tamás Sulyok, received Fra' John Timothy Dunlap, Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, who arrived in Hungary on an official visit, with military honours at Kossuth Square. Following the ceremony, the parties held talks at the Sándor Palace and signed the extension of the bilateral cooperation agreement.

Budapest, 9th September. H.E. Heinz Anton Hafner hosted the annual diplomatic reception in the gardens of the Order's House in Budapest. H.E. the Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén, H.E. the President of the Curia Dr. András Zs. Varga, and H.E. Archbishop Michael Wallace Banach, Apostolic Nuncio, were present, as well as numerous members of the Diplomatic Corps, of the Government and of the Order of Malta in Hungary.

H.E. Anton Hafner took part in the celebrations of the feast of Saint John hosted by the Hungarian Association of the Order. Holy Mass and induction of new members, reception in the grounds of the House of the Association.

The President of Hungary Tamás Sulyok was received today at the Magistral Palace by the Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Fra’ John Dunlap. During the meeting the Hungarian President praised the work the Order of Malta carries out in over 120 countries across the globe and in particular in Hungary where the Order’s Hungarian Charity Service is the largest social institution in the country, assisting a daily average of 13,000 people in nearly 150 institutions.
